Bridesmaid Proposals
Chances are (fingers crossed), you will only ask your besties to be your bridesmaids once – so why not make it special?
If you and your friends are more of the no fuss type people, a simple card can be really effective. Go funny with a card like this one from Love Layla and give your maids a chuckle. Go personal and add their name to cards like this one from Notonthehighstreet.com. Or if you want to make your own, there’s lots of websites out there to give you a helping hand. Canva has stacks of free to use templates that you can fully personalise and feel proud that you DIY’ed it. All you need is a printer and some card – cheap and wonderful!

Invite them round for a cuppa, and surprise them all by using these ‘will you be my bridemaid?’ mugs. You can even buy a special ‘will you be my maid of honour?’ one. It’s a great way to take them off guard, and a built-in keepsake for them!
Want to give them something they can use on the big day? Say it with jewellery! Nothing says ‘I love you’ like silver. These cute little bracelets from Joma Jewellery are only £15.50 and your bridesmaids will love having little matching token to wear.
Do you and the girls love a glass of bubbly? Ask them with a personalised wine bottle box. Pass over this beautiful handcrafted wooden box, with their name included – then pop open the prosecco when they say YES! You can order with the wine included, or add your friends favourite tipple.

If you fancy constructing something yourself, you could try this DIY balloon surprise proposal. They are simple to make and they couldn’t get much more personalised! Grab yourself a Kraft cardboard box and a balloon. Add some sprinkles and a note saying for example, ‘Sarah, will you be my bridesmaid?’ into a balloon (any colour – your choice). Blow the balloon – preferably with helium – just big enough to fit into the box comfortably and tie it. Add some string or ribbon and a tag on the bottom saying ‘Pop Me!’. Add a mini safety pin onto the tag, add it all into the box and tie with some pretty ribbon. Your buddies will light up when they figure it out, and you will get to tell them that you made it yourself! If you’re struggling to find the supplies, you can buy kits – like these.

For those friends with a sweet tooth, ask them with food! If you’re a baker, give baking cookies a go. You can get pretty cupcake boxes from places like B&M Bargains, which double up fantastically for cookies. You can add a tag onto the box, asking them to be your bridesmaid or you can really get your pastry chef hat on and use a cookie stamp to put ‘will you be my bridesmaid?” directly on the dough or fondant on top! Alternatively, theres lots of places that will make cookies or cupcake proposals for you – theres lots on Etsy here.
